Christmas closure

The University will be closed between 5pm on Thursday 23 December and 9am on Wednesday 5 January.

During this period, University buildings will be shut, there will be no operator service on the switchboard, and no access to incoming or outgoing mail services.

Switch and save

Staff are reminded to ensure that office and laboratory equipment is switched off at the socket before the break.

This is to minimise the risk of fire as well as contribute to the University’s ongoing efforts to cut its carbon emissions.

In previous years more than 25 per cent of PCs have been left running unnecessarily throughout the Christmas period.

Limited services

Some services, including the Centre for Sports and Exercise and the Main Library, operate limited opening hours during the festive break.
