Support services shortlisted

The University is in the running to win two national awards.

Teams from the University’s Procurement Office and its Waste and Recycling unit have both made the shortlists for two separate industry prizes.

Recycling recognition

The University is one of three organisations nominated in the Scottish Waste & Resources Awards 2010 in the category of Best Non-waste Management Sector Initiative.

Our Waste and Recycling team was shortlisted for developing challenging waste and recycling targets and putting in place clear reporting procedures.

The winner will be announced on Wednesday 6 October.

Recent initiatives introduced by the University’s Recycling and Waste team include the launch of high-visibility recycling points.

A range of online resources has also been developed to assist staff with waste disposal procedures.

Procurement team award

The University’s Procurement Office has also received recognition with an awards nomination.

The department has been shortlisted for the GO Awards Scotland 2010-11 in the Team of the Year category.

The team will find out if it’s been successful at a ceremony on 26 October.
