At 10.30am on Friday 30 April, around 24 children, aged between two and a half and five years old, will help clean up George Square Gardens.

The event has been arranged as part of the Nursery’s Eco-Schools affiliation and in coordination with Keep Scotland Beautiful’s litter campaign ‘Keep Scotland Tidy’.

The nursery’s eco team, led by Estates & Buildings staff, will help the children sort litter into recycling and landfill streams.

They will also show them how some litter can be re-used.

The children will be dressed for the occasion and will be supplied with child-sized litter pickers.

Committed to recycling

Uni-Tots recently received an Eco Schools Scotland silver award for its ongoing commitment to recycling and waste reduction and for encouraging pupils to grow fruit and vegetables in the nursery’s garden.
