International hosts sought

The International Office is seeking staff members to take part in its hospitality scheme for overseas students.

The scheme helps new international students settle in by pairing them with local families and individuals to provide social support.

Interested volunteers would be required to meet with an international student two or three times a year for coffee, a meal or a home visit.

These social meetings could take place during term time or holiday periods.

Important contribution

The University welcomes an increasing number of students from around the world and values their contribution to university life.

The role of the staff community is important in helping our international students learn more about Scotland.

You can download an application form from the hospitality scheme’s webpage.

Through participating in this scheme, staff can help enrich both student and staff experience. My family and I have hosted numerous international students over the years, to the enjoyment and benefit of all.
