The School of Arts, Culture and Environment this year celebrates 10 years of its electronic music festival Dialogues.

The anniversary will be honoured with 10 separate concerts.

Sell-out shows at Inspace

Each event will take place at the University’s dedicated digital arts venue, Inspace at the Informatics Forum.

This concert series launched on 9 September with a performance by London-based laptop duo Icarus.

This was followed by an event, Pianos Plus, on 2 October, featuring a range of artists including Lapslap, pictured.

Both concerts were sell-out occasions.

Workshop for MSc students

The next event takes place on 17 November.

US-based musician Lukas Ligeti will perform his improvised music for percussion and live electronic instruments.

During that week, he will also run a three-day workshop for students on the MSc Sound Design and MSc Digital Composition programmes.

The students will perform the work they developed with him on 20 November.

The Dialogues project is this year funded jointly by the Schools of Arts, Culture and Environment and Informatics with the College of Humanities and Social Science’s Knowledge Transfer Office.
