Scottish Centre for Olympic Research and Education (SCORE)

The SCORE is an IOC-registered Olympic Studies Centre. Since its foundation in 2022, we have actively contributed to academic forums that discuss the values of the Olympics in our society. We work with partners around the world to develop and disseminate academic programmes on Olympic Studies to wider audiences.

Our vision is to develop, promote and disseminate Olympic research and education programmes in Scotland and beyond. We work with local, national and international sporting organisations and actively seek opportunities to collaborate with a global network of Olympic Studies Centres.

Our core academic interests lie in, but are not limited to:

the ongoing legacy of the Olympic Games
the social, environmental and financial sustainability of sport mega-events
cross-cultural communication through the Olympic Movement
sport and technology in the context of the Olympic Games

We hold workshops and seminars to share research related to the Olympic Movement.

We also provide an educational forum for students based in Scotland and beyond on the Olympic Movement, in and through the SCORE.
