Professor Appleton elected to the board of IABS

We're delighted to announce that Professor Naomi Appleton has been elected to the board of the International Association of Buddhist Studies

Professor Appleton has been appointed as "Director at Large".  This means a four year tenure on the board, to provide leadership in accomplishing the purposes of the Association.

International Association of Buddhist Studies

The International Association of Buddhist Studies (IABS) is a learned society dedicated to promoting and supporting scholarship in Buddhist Studies in a spirit of non-sectarian tolerance.  It has scientific research and communication as preeminent objectives. Membership is open to scholars of all academic disciplines.

It's purposes and aims are to advance and contribute actively to the multidisciplinary and inter-disciplinary development of Buddhist studies by means of conferences, symposia and publications.
