  • Parkinson's UK, Alzheimer's Society and NIHR UCLH Biomedical Medical Research Centre collaborated on a project to explore experiences of patient and public involvement in lab-based research. This project has resulted in the development of new guidance to support researchers at all stages of their careers to actively involve patients, carers and members of the public in research based within laboratories (rather than in clinical settings, for example). Practical advice that leads researchers through each stage of the process, including identifying support, planning involvement, running sessions, and how to build longer-term engagement

• Hemingway App for clearer writing: If your role involves writing potentially complex content for non-academic/specialist audiences, then you may benefit from using the Hemingway App. Copy and paste your text into www.hemingwayapp.com and it will highlight where sentences are potentially too long or words too difficult, etc. This resource could be particularly helpful for outputs on digital platforms.
