The Innovative Healthcare Delivery Programme (IHDP) is proud to be part of collaborations working towards enhancing services and treatments for those impacted by cardiac disease through data innovation.
The IHDP and SCAP partnership
Earlier this month Public Health Scotland’s (PHS) Scottish Cardiac Audit Programme (SCAP) published its second annual report. IHDP has been working closely with SCAP from early insights at the time of the Scottish Government commission, through to implementation of the programme across cardiac services in Scotland.
The data story of SCAP unfolds as a narrative of transformative impact. SCAP has significantly improved engagement with clinical teams, fostering a collaborative approach to data utilisation. Publication of initial reports has established robust clinical governance processes and the provision of user-friendly dashboards and data entry tools for the clinical teams has streamlined processes, and enhanced accessibility and efficiency, allowing clinical teams to make best use of their data to inform services across Scotland. This year’s reports are in a new dynamic online format facilitating easier navigation between the different sections of each report.
SCAP places a strong emphasis on inclusivity, involving lived experience and collaboration with the third sector. The SCAP team is continuously building expertise and developing the programme to bring new areas into the audit in order to extend insights across a range of cardiac services. Through the meaningful use of data, SCAP emerges as a catalyst for driving healthcare improvements and strengthening the links between policy and practice.
