Indoor sports facilities
From basketball to badminton, we have activity areas for a variety of individual and team sports.

Sport & Exercise member bookings
- All bookings must be made and pre-paid via our online booking system.
- Bookings must be made by a Sport & Exercise Gym member.
- At least one member must be present during the booked activity.
- Please note all non-members will need to pay an access charge of £6 per person and must sign in via a visitor QR code at the Pleasance reception.
Squash bookings
We have four glass-backed squash courts located in the main concourse with each featuring built-in audio feedback to support scoring during competitive fixtures and excellent lighting/ventilation.
Please note: Only clean, indoor shoes with light-coloured soles should be used on squash courts.

Sports Hall Bookings
Our Sports Hall can be used for a variety of sports and is 38 metres long by 27 metres wide. It features a premium wood floor and bleacher seating.
We have six badminton courts available within our Sports Hall.

The Pleasance Sports Hall is ideal for basketball, netball or volleyball allowing for either two side-by-side courts or one show court. Bleacher seating (500 seats) and show court hoops/nets are available upon request.

Accessibility
Sports Hall
The Sports Hall is accessible via a lift from the main level and from the south side entrance.
Squash courts
The squash courts are on the main level, with a small step.
Studio
The studio is accessible via a lift from the main level.
Salle
The Salle can only be accessed via a set of stairs.
Equipment hire
- Equipment hire (Squash/badminton rackets and some balls) will be available from reception.
- Squash balls and Shuttlecocks will be available to purchase.
- Your membership/student card will be retained as a deposit for any hire items.
- All hire items must be cleaned by the user after use before returning them.
