Science and Technology Facilities Council
The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) supports research in particle physics, astronomy, astrophysics, nuclear physics, and solar system science.
Most studentships are awarded on the basis of a quota allocations made to Schools.
STFC offers postgraduate funding for Standard Research Studentships which are awarded on a quota basis.
A number of of CASE Studentships and CASE-Plus Studentships are also available in collaboration with industry. These are awarded on a peer-reviewed project basis.
Applying
Candidates should not apply directly to STFC but rather should indicate that they wish to be considered for a studentship on their postgraduate application form.
