Research Councils

Research Councils offer awards to Master's programme and/or MPhil/PhD students in most of the University's Schools.

Master's guidance

University scholarships are awarded up to £1,300 to assist those who receive Research Council funding.

Arts and Humanities Research Council

The University of Edinburgh is now part of a consortium of 8 Universities which have been awarded funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to support postgraduate studentships and training in the Arts and Humanities in Scotland.

Science and Technology Facilities Council

The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) supports research in particle physics, astronomy, astrophysics, nuclear physics, and solar system science.
