Background
I am a software engineer with a background in the development of distributed information systems and interactive user interfaces. My research interest is in biological data visualisation. During my PhD, I combined visual analytics with machine learning to support computational biologists in modelling gene interactions using Bayesian networks. In the past, I was involved in several research projects developing software for the analysis and visualisation of a wide range of data sets, including genetic, behavioral and geographic data. Also, I have professional experience in systems administration and database management systems. At The Roslin Institute, my main goal is to develop, extend and adapt the AlphaSimR software platform and make it more accessible to its users. Also, I provide technical support to the members of the AlphaGenes research group.
