Lead/Senior Oncology Nurse

Background

After several years in practice Fiona qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2004 and from there went on to study Companion Animal Behaviour at Southampton University. Fiona then spent many years in clinical practice before taking up a full time lecturing position on a Veterinary Nursing Degree programme, and gained a Post Graduate Degree in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. She returned to clinical work in 2009 and completed a Clinical Veterinary Nursing Diploma and an Advanced Veterinary Nursing Diploma in medicine,  both with distinction.

During her Advanced Diploma she developed an interest in Oncology Nursing and has been a dedicated Oncology Nurse for the last 8 years. She joined the Vet School in 2014 as a Senior Oncology Nurse and has since completed her Masters degree in Veterinary Nursing Oncology with a distinction. She has also completed a Post Graduate Certificate (pgCert) in Veterinary Nursing Oncology and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Her main interests lie in medical oncology, patient and client support.
