Candidates for Rector announced

Two candidates are to stand in the University of Edinburgh Rectorial Elections due to take place on 10-11 February 2015.

The nominees are broadcast producer Steve Morrison and writer Peter McColl.

The Rector is elected every three years and plays a vital role in representing the interests of students and staff. They preside at meetings of the University Court (the governing body of the University) and work closely with Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA).

Manifestos

Steve Morrison is Non-Executive Chairman and a founding member of independent broadcast production company All3Media.

Peter McColl is the University's current Rector. An Edinburgh alumnus, he is a writer, activist and charity worker.

How to vote

The election is open to all current University of Edinburgh students and staff. Voting will take place online on MyEd from 9am, 10 February until 7pm, 11 February.
