Staff invited to sign travel pledge

Staff are invited to sign a pledge to learn more about low-carbon travel alternatives.

Transport makes up about a quarter of the University community’s carbon footprint, the biggest contributor of which is leisure travel choices.

The pledge is a project of Transition Edinburgh University, a community project of staff and students working to make the University less dependent on fossil fuels.

Those who sign the pledge will be sent a personalised ‘Infrequent Flyer’s Pocket Companion’.

This contains low-carbon travel tips and suggestions for holiday destinations and activities at home and abroad.

Staff are also invited to enter the Fair Travel Competition, by sending in their favourite travel-related photographs, stories and postcards. Prizes include accommodation packages.
