Honorary Professor: Yurii Aulchenko

Dr Aulchenko was awarded an MSci in biology in 1997, a PhD in animal genetics in 2000, and a habilitation in statistical genomics in 2010.

Yurii Aulchenko has been made Honorary Professor in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

Between 2001 and 2011 he worked as Post Doctorate, Assistant and then Associate Professor of Human Statistical Genomics at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam.

Since 1997, Dr Aulchenko has taught several courses and led workshops in statistical genetics and genomics.

In 2011, he founded a company providing consulting, teaching and training as well as on-demand methodology, software development and analysis in the field of statistical genomics.

Dr Aulchenko’s scientific interests include the development of methods and software for human statistical genomics.

He is particularly interested in linkage and genome-wide association analyses using genetic marker and sequence information.

Dr Aulchenko is also interested in understanding the mechanisms of genetic control of complex traits and diseases.

In his free time Dr Aulchenko enjoys spending time with his family, and on sports and hiking.
