Honorary Professor: Henry Jabbour

Henry Jabbour has been made an Honorary Professor.

Professor Henry Jabbour

Professor Jabbour is Senior Scientist and Programme Leader at the MRC Human Reproductive Sciences Unit, where he has worked since 1995.

He received BSc Honours (first class) from the American University of Beirut (1982).

He also has a PhD from the University of Sydney (1989).

He completed research fellowships in New Zealand and London.

He holds an honorary appointment with the University of Cape Town, where he has strong and active collaborations.

His research interests are focused on understanding the role of lipid mediators in inflammation and its resolution in physiology and pathology of the female reproductive tract, including cancer.

Professor Jabbour recently initiated a new research programme focusing on the role of prokineticins and their receptors in various aspects of reproductive function.

His research has generated various patents jointly with members of the University of Edinburgh.

Professor Jabbour has been an elected member on the Council of the Society for Reproduction and Fertility.

He currently serves on the editorial boards of various national and international scientific journals.
