Centre for Inflammation Research

Research Culture and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

Centre for Inflammation Research (CIR) Research Culture Mission Statement

The Centre for Inflammation Research strives to create an inclusive and supportive research culture which is informed by all of its members. We aim to support all colleagues in line with University of Edinburgh and Institute for Regeneration and Repair (IRR) research culture action plans and policies and want to ensure wellbeing and equality, diversity and inclusion are central to everything that we do.

We aim to achieve our Centre goals in a principled, considerate and respectful manner as per the UoE Behaviour's charter

As CIR Director, I am committed to supporting a positive research and working culture within CIR, and support the equality, diversity, and inclusion priorities set out in the University’s Equality Outcomes 2021-2025.

We aspire that colleagues within CIR will feel empowered to express their voices with confidence to help shape CIR’s culture and policy, and to challenge areas they feel need to be changed. Our goal is to create a bidirectional flow of ideas to achieve collective responsibility for culture and create an inclusive, positive culture at CIR.

We encourage all members of our community to consider how they can contribute to a positive research culture.
