Crowcroft contributes to PM’s histories

Dr Robert Crowcroft, Lecturer in Contemporary History in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology, has been invited to participate in a new history initiative launched by the Prime Minister's Office.

Downing Street would like to bolster the historical material on government websites and as part of this has commissioned a series of essays on former Prime Ministers.

The current Prime Minister, David Cameron, and the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Jeremy Heywood, are strong supporters of the project which will reach a wide audience, including schoolchildren and journalists.

Dr Crowcroft has been invited to contribute a piece on Clement Attlee. This follows his book, 'Attlee's War: World War II and the Making of a Labour Leader’ (2011).

Dr Crowcroft will also be attending a series of events at No. 10 Downing Street when the project is launched.
