Ancient Greek history and contemporary social science
This international classics conference, supported by the A.G. Leventis Foundation will take place this November in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh.
The four-day conference will bring together Hellenists interested in the potential of contemporary social science methods with social scientists with a strong interest in ancient Greece. The conference papers will survey the current state of the field of “social science Greek history” and will seek to push the field forward to the next level.
Participants will include social scientists and Hellenists, ranging from postgraduates to senior scholars, from university departments and research centres in the United Kingdom, continental Europe, North America, and elsewhere.
The 2015 Leventis Conference will feature an opening public lecture on Thursday 12 November followed by three days of seminars and discussions.
