The School was delighted to learn of two success this week. One for a student society and one for staff.

The Edinburgh University Student Association Student Awards were announced on Monday 13 April. Edinburgh University History Society had been shortlisted  in three categories, the Classics Society's 'Literacy Through Latin' Program has been shortlisted for the Contribution to the Local Community Award for its work with schoolchildren. And Mickey Ferguson has been recognised for her work as HCA EUSA Undergraduate School Representative by being shortlisted for the Student Leadership Award. On the night - online, of course - the winners were announced and the History Society scooped the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Student Experience’ Award 2020. This award recognises individuals or groups who have made an outstanding commitment to improving the student experience, who have contributed to creating a vibrant, inclusive, and respectful environment.

We were also thrilled to learn that Professor Louise Jackson (Professor of Modern Social History) has been appointed to the role of Associate Dean Knowledge Exchange and Impact, with effect from 1 August 2020.

Warmest congratulations to Louise and the History Society!
