School of Health in Social Science

Congratulations to all our graduating students

In celebration of our gradutating students’ achievement and resilience, the School of Health in Social Science’s graduation ceremony took place on the 12th of July at McEwan Hall, followed by a reception at the Playfair Library.

Head of School, Professor Matthias Schwannauer, has expressed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to graduating students saying:

“We would like to wholeheartedly congratulate all of our graduating students for their achievements and wish them all the very best for their next steps. We feel that this generation and year group of graduates have demonstrated remarkable and exemplary resilience and adaptability; most had a big portion of their degrees marked by changes and compromises as a result of COVID19 measures and our attempts to regroup in this post-pandemic period. The longstanding sector wide industrial action has had a further impact on their experience of their degree and for some that meant they carry the consequences of the lack of a resolution with them from the graduation hall. For many of our students that meant extra work, often accompanied by a sense of isolation, lack of community and support. Despite these additional hurdles you prevailed and rose to the many challenges. I feel you can be truly proud of your achievement!”

Congratulations to the Class of 2023 for their remarkable achievements and our best wishes as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and look forward to witnessing their continued success as they make a positive impact on the world.
