GEPS students selected to attend meeting with Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton

Nine students from GEPS degrees are headed to an international meeting with President Bill Clinton, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Chelsea Clinton this March.

GEPS students 2015

The students come from our programmes in MSc Global Environment and Society (GEPS); MSc Environmental Sustainability; MSc Food Security; MSc Development; and BSc Biological Sciences.

They will join over 1,000 others from around the world at the University of Miami, Florida as part of the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U). The Clinton Global Initiative brings together university students to address global challenges with practical, innovative solutions. CGI U participants do more than simply discuss problems - they take concrete steps to solve them by creating action plans, building relationships, participating in hands-on workshops, and following up with CGI U as they complete their projects.

Our students were chosen on the basis of projects they designed to address environment and climate change, development and peace and human rights. Their participation has been financially supported by the Principal's Fund, Global Academies and generous help from Alumni and Development. Students received further advice and academic support form Academic Mentor Dr Elizabeth Bomberg (Politics and IR and Deputy Director of Global Environment and Society Academy) and the Global Academies.
