27 Feb 23. Lucia MacCioni CZI-PiW scholar

Congratulations to Lucia MacCioni, the first CZI-PiW scholar.

Lucia MacCioni hails from the the University of Padova, Italy and has a background in human brain imaging.

Lucia will carry out her project under the auspices of Adriana Tavares at Edinburgh Imaging: “[18F] LW223 PET imaging of brain cellular TSPO expression in systemic inflammation in mice, induced with lipopolysaccharide challenge.”

Lucia will start her CZI-PiW scholarship in mid-August 2023 and carry on through to the end of September 2023.

Lucia aims to learn new techniques, including preclinical PET image analysis, network analysis, and kinetic modelling of mouse brain datasets.
