Chris was initially awarded his BSc (Hons) in Physiology from St Andrews in 2008 before completing his MBBS at Newcastle University in 2012.

Following completion of Foundation Training in Northumbria NHS trust, an HMO post with Monash Health, Melbourne and Core Surgical Training with NHS Lothian, Chris worked as an Anatomy Teaching fellow in the department up until August 2018. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS (ENT)) and is currently a Specialty Registrar in Otolaryngology in NHS Lothian.

He was recently awarded the position of Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow in Anatomy and continues to organise and deliver teaching sessions within the department.

Chris has a deep interest in teaching, having previously led the CASE anatomy programme for Edinburgh Medical Students, completing his CEP Level 2 and working towards his PGCAP in Education with the university.

He also has a keen interest in sport medicine, serving as the duty doctor for both the Scottish Hockey Association and St Johnstone Football club.

Teaching

Chris delivers practical sessions across a wide range of anatomical subjects to medical, biomedical science and anatomy students. In addition to this he has a focus on clinically-orientated anatomy teaching to draw from his experiences and contextualise learning for students.

Of note, he was involved in the organisation and delivery of the new Core Surgical Training Anatomy teaching programme.
