How to Apply
We are still accepting applications for our 2024/25 programme. Please apply via UCAS.
Applications
Applications for the 2024/25 International Foundation Programme at the University of Edinburgh remain open beyond the 'equal consideration' deadline. We recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.
All applications should be made online through UCAS, the Universities and College Admissions Service. Our institution code is E56 and our course code IFP2.
If you are hoping to progress onto an undergraduate degree with the School of Art, Design and Architecture, please see our IFP portfolio guidance below:
Art and Design Application Portfolio Guidance
Our admissions team will e-mail you if they require any further information before making a decision on your application. Please do not send documents to us unless they are requested as this will slow down our processing times. You should monitor your UCAS track, as this will be updated when a decision is made on your application. This would usually be within four to six weeks of receipt of your completed application.
If you are selected for an unconditional place on the programme, you will need to secure your offer by paying a deposit of £2,000. Our Admissions team will email you with instructions on submitting your deposit if and when this is required.
Applying for a Visa
You may need to apply for a student visa to enter the UK. You will not be able to apply for a visa until you have received an unconditional offer from our Admissions team.
Please read our guide on applying for a visa very carefully and always refer to the UK Visa and Immigration website for the most up-to-date information.
Students with Support Needs
We welcome enquiries and applications from all students, including those with additional support needs such as disabilities, learning differences or health conditions which may affect their studies. If you have support needs we would encourage you to indicate this on your application form. We can then contact you to discuss your requirements and put any adjustments or further support arrangements in place.
