Dr Nazir Lone appointed to a national leadership position within NHS National Services Scotland
Chair of the Scottish Intensive Care Society Audit Group
The Scottish Intensive Care Society Audit Group aims to drive improvements in the quality of care delivered to critically ill patients. In this role, Naz will lead the organisation to oversee the national audit programme, using data to monitor and compare activities and outcomes across Scottish Critical Care.
Dr Nazir Lone works as a Consultant at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Critical Care at the Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh. His programme of research focuses on longer term outcomes of patients surviving critical care and improving the quality of care for those who become critically ill. Dr Lone has a particular research interest in epidemiological methods and the realising of the full potential of healthcare data. Dr Lone is currently Deputy Director of Research for the Intensive Care Society, UK.
