The University’s range of staff benefits has been updated with new ways to save money on everything from cinema tickets to wellbeing services.
MyLifestyle
Cinema
Staff can save money on cinema tickets and snacks through MyLifestyle.
Tickets are available for various cinemas at reduced rates. Currently there are offers for Monday to Thursday off-peak tickets at Cineworld from £5.04, or Odeon from £5.63.
There are also cinema discounts available by signing up to Cinema Society Club* via Discounts for Teachers*, a website where anyone who works in the education sector can sign up for free. Currently, there are tickets available for The Scotsman Picturehouse for £10.29 (a saving of 36%) and other local cinemas.

Food and drink
Loudons at New Waverley is offering University staff a 20% discount on food and drinks, Monday to Friday.
Health and wellbeing
Staff, along with their family and friends, get a 10% discount on all Dears Pharmacy services including vaccines, tests and store items.
Staff get a £5 discount on sports and clinical massages at the Rebalance Massage Clinic at the Pleasance Sports Complex and Gym.
Travel and accommodation
Throughout July and August, Firbush Outdoor Centre on the shores of Loch Tay, provides a programme of activity holidays for families and individuals and staff can book these at a reduced rate.
Staff also get a 15% discount on the self-catering lodges and a 10% discount on accommodation pods.
Learning and development
Staff get a 10% discount on the University’s lifelong learning courses, covering a variety of subjects.
Shopping
New for 2025! Staff receive a 10% discount on merchandise from the University’s gift shop, including branded clothing, stationery, and accessories.
Festivals
The Edinburgh Science Festival: 2-for-1 on tickets
The Edinburgh Science Festival, which runs from 5 - 25 April, is offering staff 2-for-1 on tickets for some events and half-price tickets to DiscoveryLab, the festival’s family experience.

In recognition of the continued partnership between the Edinburgh International Festival and the University, staff can now receive a 10% discount on tickets for the 2025 Edinburgh International Festival.
