A range of University of Edinburgh projects are included in the latest Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) Research Awards Programme winners.
The 27 winning projects will share more than £724,000 with 46 other innovative projects across Scotland and beyond. The Awards Programme aims to nurture talent, stimulate research and promote international collaboration.
Professor Susan Dunnett from the University’s Business School has been awarded a grant for her work with Professor Kathy Hamilton at the University of Strathclyde on the role of the medical marketplace and how it creates and sustains hope in people living with cancer.
I’m delighted to receive the Royal Society of Edinburgh Small Research Grant, which offers important support for an early-stage research project with Professor Kathy Hamilton, Strathclyde University. Our project aims to explore the resources people living with cancer draw on to feel hopeful. This research funding allows us to develop new ways of understanding hope, through collaborating across disciplines. I’m excited about the impact of this project, both within academia and beyond.
