The report is structured around the People Strategy’s three pillars – enhancing our community, developing staff potential, and improving the working environment. It details progress in these areas and successes linked to equality, diversity and inclusion, sustainability and leadership.

The Annual People Report also includes diverse stories and achievements from each area of the University community, with the aim of celebrating colleague achievements and improvements to staff experience. It highlights progress across key University-wide priorities as well as local level improvements, such as:

  • Implementation of the findings of the Grade Scale Review, improving pay for the vast majority of our University community.
  • The extension of financial assistance available to international staff seeking to live and work in the UK.
  • Improvements to our physical estate.

I hope that the People Report will provide a flavour of the work that colleagues across the University have undertaken to make the University an even better place to work.

The first Annual People Report was produced in Autumn 2023 following a request from Court.
