To meet the University’s strategy to position itself to compete successfully for funding from Europe, the Research Support Office has a specific EU funding team.
The European Team offers a range of support for researchers interested in applying to European Commission research funding schemes, most notably Horizon 2020 the world’s largest research and innovation funding programme.
Horizon 2020 supports a myriad of opportunities for researchers at all levels of experience. Ranging from PhD training though Innovative Training Networks, researcher mobility though Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual fellowships, finding responses to real life challenged though Societal Challenges, scaling up existing research, right though to ground-breaking scientific discoveries funded through European Research Council grants.
We also run workshops on Horizon 2020 funding schemes (bookable through MyEd) and we are happy to discuss funding opportunities, research ideas, call requirements and suitability with you. Should you decide to apply we will work with you, offering guidance and proposal writing support, right through to submission and, if successful, through the grant preparation phase.
