Velkommen / Velkomen / Välkommen!
Scandinavia's languages, and its history, politics and culture, have long had a considerable impact beyond the Nordic region.
We are the only university in Scotland, and one of only two in the UK, to offer undergraduate honours programmes in Scandinavian Studies.
Since 1987, we have been teaching modern Scandinavian languages at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervising a range of research.
We are the proud home of the Northern Scholars Scheme which fosters co-operation between the Nordic and Baltic countries and Scotland. We have a very active social and cultural life, celebrate all the major Nordic festivals, and collaborate closely with the many Scandinavian and Nordic bodies in Edinburgh.
Learn modern Danish, Swedish or Norwegian in the context of Scandinavian culture, past and present.
Take an MSc by Research or PhD in an aspect of Nordic languages, literatures, history, culture or society.
