Entrepreneurial career support

University support for students who want to pursue an enterprising career.

The Careers Service

The Careers Services offers guidance and support to students who want to start their own business, through helping you to plan out the idea from start to finish.

They can provide information on the support available within the Careers Service, and throughout the university, and information about additional sources of help from out with the university, such as local enterprise trusts.

Edinburgh Innovations: business start-up support

Edinburgh Innovations provide free startup advice and business support to students at the University of Edinburgh interested in starting a business. Students, from undergraduates to PhDs and recent alumni, can access one-to-one help from a business advisor on all aspects of setting up a business.

They also run workshops, clinics and competitions and provide mentoring, hot desks and a library of resources and online tools.

They have helped a number of students form their own companies, many of which have grown into successful, profitable enterprises.
