Jira annual upgrade successfully completed

Each year we undertake a project to upgrade our project tracking, development and issue management tool Jira. The annual upgrade ensures that we are using the most recent supported version and can take advantage of newly released features and integrations with other Atlassian products. 

This year's upgrade moved Jira to version 8.5.5. Since it's inclusion in our project management and development toolset Jira has become an important tool in both our waterfall and ever increasingly, our agile software development. 

The annual update is usually a straight forward project managed by our Project Services student intern to gain good experience of project management within IS Applications, and this year was no exception. Our intern this year was 3rd-year law student Lala Mirzayeva managed to project throughout, the project delivered to the planning milestones and came in well under the approved budget.
