Articulation

Articulation describes a formal arrangement whereby students which satisfy academic criteria on one programme are automatically admitted with advanced standing to a subsequent stage of a degree awarding body.

What is articulation?

‘Advanced Standing’ applies generally to admission to a programme, whereby an applicant can be admitted to a semester or year of the course other than the first semester or year, on the basis of learning they have completed elsewhere.

Articulation agreements are frequently refered to as "2 + 2" or "direct entry".

Process

Where learning oppertunities are delivered or supported by organisations other than degree-awarding bodies, the University must ensure that expectations on teaching quality, student support and engagement are met.
