A busy time for our MSc Primary Dental Care students

June and July have been a busy time for our MSc Primary Dental Care students

In June 2017, we were delighted to welcome postgraduate students from years 1 and 2 who enjoyed two weeks of clinical skills training in our well-equipped skills lab in the Edinburgh Dental Institute.

Tutors provided a full programme of teaching that allowed participants to try out new techniques, equipment and materials. We are very grateful to all the sponsors for providing such an excellent range of materials for us. The busy teaching programme was balanced by some excellent social events including a trip to the Royal College of Surgeons museum, a barbecue at Salisbury Green, a lively boat trip on the River Forth and a special dinner at Edinburgh castle.

Our summer rounded off wonderfully on 8th July 2017 when twenty of our students graduated from the MSc/PgDip/PgCert in primary dental care programme.  Thirteen of our students were able to attend the Graduation Ceremony held in the newly refurbished McEwan Hall.   The building has been magnificently restored and provided a beautiful backdrop for this special day.   Our students travelled from the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Australia and Canada to celebrate their great achievement.
