University of Edinburgh Teams Success at Scottish Conference Finals

The University of Edinburgh's teams showcased their skills in the cup and trophy knockout competition this year with eight teams qualifying for the Conference Finals, securing spots in five Conference Cup finals and three Conference Trophy finals.

The Conference finals, serve as the regional finals for British University and College Sports (BUCS) Tier 2 and below. The qualifying teams were; Women’s FAST4 Tennis, Men’s Hockey 3’s, Men’s Hockey 6’s, Women’s Hockey 4’s, Men’s Football 4’s, Netball 3’s, Badminton 2’s and Volleyball 2’s.

The Edinburgh W FAST4 Tennis team kicked off the day against with Stirling, putting in a great performance although Stirling secured the win with a final score of 2-4 to Stirling.

Among the standout fixtures of the day, the Edinburgh’s Volleyball W2's clashed with Glasgow W2's, winning 3-0 on straight sets. The Badminton 2's took on Glasgow 2's, coming away with a confident win 11-1.

In another exciting showdown, Edinburgh Netball 3's went up against Aberdeen 1's, where Edinburgh showed their endurance and style to win 41-33. The Edinburgh Football M4's met Edinburgh College M1's in the final and came away with a confident win 10-0.

The W4’s and M6’s had tough games, 2-3 Aberdeen 1’s and 0-3 St Andrews 3’s respectively. The Edinburgh Hockey M3's went head-to-head with Aberdeen M1's, winning 3-2, rounding out an action-packed day of sports.
