Megan Keith Crowned U23 European Cross Country Champion

Megan Keith was crowned the women’s U23 champion at the 2023 SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Brussels with a record breaking result.

Sport Scholar and Sport Science student Megan Keith impressed once again on the European stage representing Great Britain in the U23 race. From the outset Keith took a confident lead building her momentum on every lap of the challenging course. Crossing the finish line with a time of  25 minutes and 32 seconds, recording a record winning margin of 1 minute 23 seconds, more than double the previous best across championship history (39 seconds).

The gold medallist's performance also played a key role in securing the team gold alongside teammates Alexandra Millard and Eloise Walker’s 11th and 15th place finishes leading to a record 7 medals for the Great Britain squad.

Keith's outstanding performance highlights her hard work and determination as she continues to balance her academic endeavours whilst be recognised as a rising star in the world of athletics. Megan is now focusing on building her momentum on both track and cross-country circuits following an impressive debut at the World Athletics Championships earlier this summer.
