Graduates of University of Edinburgh

Edinburgh University Library is open to its graduates on production of appropriate proof of identity.

Membership

Edinburgh University graduates are entitled to join the library on a reference only basis, or as an external borrower for which there is a fee.

External borrowerA fee applies. Graduates are entitled to 50% discount on the cost. Membership lasts for 3,6 or 12 months

What do I need to bring?

Please bring the appropriate ID as outlined below. You will be unable to register unless you have all the requested documentation.

*Proof of address must be dated within the last 3 months.

Registration can take place at any library site but can only take place during staff hours. If you are applying for a Reference card you may fill in the application form online before visiting the library.

Your library card can be used in the Main Library and all site libraries. Access to departmental or site libraries is not available.

Replacement cards (lost, stolen or expired)

If your reference or external borrower's card is lost or stolen or if it expires you must apply for a new one. To do this you must register with the library again and provide the required documentation. All required documentation must be provided.

If your external borrower's card has expired and you wish to renew it you must pay for another period of membership.

Friends of Edinburgh University Library

You are very welcome to become a life member of the Friends of Edinburgh University Library, which is a separate charitable organisation, on payment of the current fee.
