Cochrane Library

Access information:Access on and off campus.
Description:Used to inform the practice of evidence based medicine. Cochrane includes the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness, the Cochrane Review Methodology Database and the Cochrane Controlled Trials Register. Updated quarterly. Note: Access from The National Electronic Library for Health ended 2 January 2005.

Medline

Access information:Access on and off campus. Also available from FirstSearch - Access on and off campus.
Description:National Library of Medicine database, covering worldwide medical literature including research, clinical practice, administration, policy issues and health care services. Corresponds to three printed indexes - Index Medicus, Index to Dental Literature and International Nursing Index. Covers 3,200 journals published in the USA and about 70 other countries.
Coverage:From 1966 to date.

Physical Education Index

Access information:Access on and off campus.
Description:The database indexes physical education literature, including peer-reviewed journals, report literature, conference proceedings, trade magazines, patents, articles from the popular press, and many other publications. The database is updated monthly.
Coverage:From 1970 onwards.

PsycARTICLES (incorporated into Your Journals@OVID)

Access information:Access on and off campus.
Description:Produced and copyrighted © by the American Psychological Association, and is a database of full-text articles from 56 journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe & Huber.
The database includes all material from the print journals with the exception of advertisements, editorial board lists, instructions to authors and similar material.

ScienceDirect

Access information: Access on and off campus.
Description:ScienceDirect provides access to 1200 journals published by Elsevier Science B.V., with full text of articles available from 1995 onwards for titles to which the University subscribes.

SPORTDiscus with Full Text

Access information:Access on and off campus.
Description:Covers serial and monographic literature in sport, recreation, exercise physiology, sports medicine, coaching, physical fitness, the psychology, history and sociology of sport, training, and conditioning. Full text is available for 550 titles.
