The Training and Audit Co-ordinator provides a wide variety of health and safety training and auditing services to the University and can advise on a wide range of health and safety issues.
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Trainer principally delivers First Aid training to University Staff but also offers the courses on a commercial basis.
There are a variety of courses available as standard, but the Training and Audit Co-ordinator can also tailor courses to suit staff needs. Please contact him for further advice.

Lawrence is the head of the Training and Audit Unit which offers training in all aspects of health and safety relating to University work and carries out audits of both a general and a specific topic based nature.
He has worked in the University for many years, first in the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Sciences, before joining the Health and Safety Department in 2000. Lawrence is a Chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).

John took over the new post of Health and Safety (First Aid) Trainer when he joined the Department in 2006.
He undertakes all the first aid training in-house as well as ensuring the University continues to be accredited by the Health and Safety Executive as a first aid provider.
John is available for advice and guidance on any first aid issue.
Following her work on Queen Margaret University’s Re:Locate Project, Susan joined the University of Edinburgh as Administrator of the Scottish Funding Council’s CHASTE (Coordinating Health and Safety in Tertiary Education) Project in 2008.
On conclusion of the Project, in April 2011, Susan joined the Training and Audit Unit and is responsible for the marketing and administration of the Unit’s commercial training courses, and in particular, the Biosafety Training Institute. Susan also manages the BTI website and social network, and is working on the development of the Unit’s e-learning courses.
Susan has previously worked in Marketing and Retail Management, and has an Honours degree in Public Policy and Management (Public Administration and Law).
