Access Guides

The University works with AccessAble, the UK's leading provider of access information, to provide details about the accessibility of our buildings and facilities.

Search for accessible places on campus: AccessAble.

"AccessAble - UoE" app

AccessAble - UoE is available on both iOS and Android, and uses symbols, photos and descriptions to give you instant access to information about ramps, lifts and accessible toilets.

Handy features include MyWayToGo which directs you to a chosen accessible place on campus, and FindMeNow, an in-built emergency locator that sends your GPS location to your chosen emergency contact by email or SMS.

I am delighted to see these access guides produced for the University by AccessAble (formerly DisabledGo). The University of Edinburgh aims to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in and contribute to our community: our historic estate is beautiful but we recognise that not all buildings are as accessible as we would wish.  The survey information by AccessAble will not only provide information for staff, students and visitors about how best to access the University, but will also provide recommendations for improvements. These guides, together with a commitment for further work by the University to progressively improve accessibility of the estate, will enhance our ability to allow everyone to participate in our mission of the creation, dissemination and curation of knowledge
