Background

Miranda has woven a career in emergency nursing, humanitarian aid and clinical research over three decades. She has worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Africa and the Middle East, and is particularly interested in clinical trials in outbreaks.

Research experience has included host genetics of susceptibility & outcome in Kawasaki disease, paediatric vaccine trials, emergency (A&E-based) clinical research, and more recently the genetics of critical illness.

Joining the Genetics Of Mortality In Critical Care (GenOMICC) team at the Pandemic Sciences Hub in 2022, Miranda brings her breadth of experience and knowledge to lead and develop the international arm of the study.
