Background

Melanie graduated as a human physiotherapist in 2006, working within the National Health Service for four years in several specialist physiotherapist roles. She completed an MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College, graduating in 2011, before moving to University of Glasgow Small Animal Hospital, working as a Veterinary Physiotherapist.

Melanie is a Category A member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT) and is also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

She has an interest in canine physiotherapy, specifically the management of neurological conditions and soft tissue injuries in dogs.

Melanie is developing a number research projects to add to the evidence base of Veterinary Physiotherapy and is looking at the development of objective outcome measures to be used in general practice to assess the response to physiotherapy.
