Biography

Background

A graduate of Swansea University, I carried out my doctoral research at Wolfson College, Oxford under the supervision of Dr Frances Lannon. I arrived in Edinburgh in 2003 after holding a Post Doctoral Fellowship at King's College London.

Current research interests

My current research interests lie in twentieth-century Spain, especially the Spanish Civil War and the Franco regime. At present I am completing a book on the repression in Republican Madrid between 1936-39. I am also interestedin twentieth-century Cuba, especially the Spanish community in Cuba after 1898.
