Research summary

I am interested in the organization, collection, and transmission of knowledge in Buddhism. In particular, I study the ritual, symbolic, and iconic uses of texts and their manifestation.

Current research interests

My current research focuses on the embodiment of Buddhist texts by means of practices of textualization, including ingesting, incorporating, and inscribing dharma-texts and other forms of Buddhist textuality into and onto the body as well as their metaphorical representations in the literature. It also concentrates on the place of dharma-texts in the Buddhist imaginary in the form of ideal textual collections. Lastly, it accounts for the copying, reproduction, and multiplication of dharma-texts as Buddhist practice.

Past research interests

My past research includes a master's dissertation on Buddhist studies on the place of reading in the practice of Buddhism and another master's dissertation on librarianship analysing the creation of Buddhist libraries in the UK.
