This is a continuation of the national assessment and marking boycott that took place before Christmas. It has been called by the UCU due to continued disagreement about planned changes to the USS pension scheme. As a result of the action, some staff may refuse to set or mark coursework, assignments, and exams as from 16th January.
The University has asked staff not to take action during this period and to work normally since negotiations between the two sides are continuing until late January, and as we continue - with other Universities - to seek an outcome that is acceptable to all parties.
The University continues to work meanwhile to ensure that the impact of the boycott on students is minimised.
