Three Minute Thesis champions to do battle

Nine PhD students will compete in the Edinburgh final of the 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) contest on Thursday, 25 June.

The event promises to be a fascinating and fast paced showcase of some of the top research from across the University. The presentations will be judged by an expert panel and audience members will also get to vote for the People’s Choice award. Students from all three Colleges will compete to for a place at the UK semi-Finals, and the Universitas 21 international Grand Final in October.

First developed by the University of Queensland in 2008, the competition challenges research students to communicate the significance of their projects to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes, with the help of only one slide. It provides a great opportunity for doctoral researchers to showcase their work, and can open doors to new collaborations and networks for researchers and supervisors.
