The Darwin Learning and Teaching Cluster
The Darwin Learning and Teaching Cluster will close at 5.00pm on Friday 22 May, to allow major building work to commence. The cafe and study spaces will be moved to the ground and first floors of the new Mary Brück Building and will open for the start of the new semester. The new study space will consist of three distinct study zones:
- silent study
- quiet study with Open Access PCs
- group study with Open Access PCs, group study room and two group study pods
An accessible study room will also be located on the ground floor. All study desks will have user power outlets and there will be wireless network throughout the space.
KB Centre - Level 2
Level 2 of the KB Centre will also close for refurbishment on Friday 22 May and will re-open for the start of the new session. This refurbishment will provide improved quiet study space with Open Access PCs; and nine group study rooms equipped with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) connectivity, both cabled and wireless to the display screen, and additional whiteboards.
KB Centre – Levels 1 and 3
Levels 1 and 3 of the KB Centre will continue to be available throughout the summer, but users should be aware that there will be noise from the redevelopment work elsewhere in the building, and additionally booked sessions by Summer Schools also using the space.
KB Library Store
The KB Library Store will also close and the print journals and older book collections will be moved to the Library Annexe:

Business as usual
The Open Access computer area in JCMB room 3210 will be available throughout the vacation, as well as Murray Library and KB Café which will operate as normal throughout the vacation.
